KitKat is for now, but plastic wrapper is forever. Plastic is the gift that never stops giving, stays with us forever, even stay IN us forever.
Single-use plastic are the real horror show this Halloween. Recycling is mostly a myth, and a way for us to feel better about what we know is evil. The best fix is simply to ban them, so push for your governments to ban them now.
Happy Halloween <3
You are right. Although the packaging is written on the recyclable, how much can really be recycled? We should reflect deeply on this issue to get to the root of the problem of plastic use.
Great post Bita! The waste generated from celebrations/holidays is an example of businesses monopolizing on traditions. It's hard to imagine a version of Halloween that doesn't generate millions of little plastic wrappers because waste has become an accepted by-product of Halloween. It would be amazing if all Halloween candy could be wrapped in paper products like Smarties!
Halloween is a great example of tons of single use plastic in food packaging. You also present a really important problem without a clear solution yet–handing out candies in a germ-free way demands some sort of high quality packaging, but the only commercial options are all plastic! Hopefully we can see cellulose candy wrappers or something similar soon.
Happy Halloween! I agree that nothing is scarier than realizing that recycling is a myth.
I love your post! It's true, single-use plastics are the real horror show.
Hey Bita!
I really like how you curated your post! This is a great example of how to capture the public's attention for awareness!
I totally agree that plastics should be banned! Often wrappers and packaging for many items are thrown away without any thought of the negative impacts they have.
Hi Bita, thank you for delivering this powerful message!
Really interting points! Currently recycling is a myth, but it could not be in the future!
I agree that the governments should ban single use plastics
