My friends and I are doing a project on fast fashion for an environmental science course at UBC. We held a workshop with the UBC biosoc club last week on Black Friday where we discussed how consumerism and fashion trends are unsustainable practices. Through the clothing swap activity, we hope to have people's attention on the social and ecological impacts that over-production of textile products could bring. There are better ways to stay fashionable than dumping your whole closet out!
