When is death appropriate to talk about? I envision a world where action is taken so that death care is more widely discussed. Death is a taboo subject that causes people to be unprepared. However, due to the cost and environmental effects of death care, it is a subject that requires discussion and preparation. Many of your loved ones are most likely unaware of the anti-ecological and cost heavy aspects of death care and leaving the choice to them after death at such a sensitive time, they will most likely be influenced by those looking for profit from death care. I think having campaigns and promoting death care plans to seniors and even young people will bring change in how death care is treated today. Everyone should have the right to be educated about the alternatives to anti-ecological and costly death care to protect themselves and their loved ones. In the future, will death still be considered a taboo subject? Let's talk about it!

Hey Eunee,
I honeslty hadn't considered the topic much myself- In the future, a shift toward viewing death as a topic for constructive dialogue rather than avoidance could contribute to a more compassionate and informed approach to end-of-life care. Addressing the environmental impact and cost considerations associated with traditional death care methods is an important step toward fostering change!
Hi Eunee, I agree that being more open about death care discussions is important if we, as a whole, want to approach greater sustainability. I think that is important for people to understand the various forms of death care in a great detail before making a choice as this will likely reduce the odds of people defaulting to practices such as casket burials and instead allow them to explore alternative options.
Hi Eungee! I agree, let's talk about it! Why shouldn't we be more aware of sustainable practices when death is in all our futures.
I'd be interested in your thoughts around Conservation Burial Reserves as a means of transforming death care into positive nature and climate action.
Hello Eunee! I enjoyed reading your post and agree with you 100%. If funeral homes do not promote sustainable death care in hopes of earning more profit, we may have to create laws or regulations so that sustainable death care choices are more widely-known and chosen (and without the funeral homes losing too much profit).
Great ideas! I never even knew about the climate impacts death care has on the environment and I'm guessing most people dont know about it. I think being able to talk more about death is the first step.
Great point Eunee! I think education can go a long way and help people feel less lost when it does come time to think about death
I agree that death is a taboo subject and there is a lot of stigma around discussions regarding death. Discussing eco-friendly options and alternatives are necessary, as you said.
Hi Eunee!
I agree that currently conversations regarding death are generally considered taboo and therefore many families don't end up having important discussions about death care. I hope that in the future more people have these important conversations with their loved ones and that there is greater awareness, in the public, regarding eco-friendly death care options such as aquamation
I agree that discussing ecological and low-cost death planning with the family is necessary. Good post!
