Everyone has the right to have a future where they do not have to worry about the air quality and the high chance of a forest fire spreading and destroying their city. I envision a future where there are rarely large forest fires and smoke spreading across several cities, much like we had even just 10 years ago. A possible intervention could be to have a bigger network of people who help monitor the conditions of the land, and forests by educating communities and recruiting those who want to be involved. A website and app can also be made to make it more accessible for people to report their findings in real-time.

I really like your intervention for monitoring and then conveying that information via an app or website. Forest fires can be a necessary part of our ecosystem, but the severity and frequency of wildfires are definitely on the rise. I hope we can tackle this challenge together as a community!
Hello Jinny! I definitely love the idea of developing a real-time app for people to track and report wildfires, it coincides with the very digital world we live in nowadays. I think from what I'm aware of in terms of existing resources, there is a hotline for people to dial in case they do witness sightings of fires. Very neat!
Hi Jinny! I think you are the first person who's post I've read on this forum to outline such a concrete idea like an app! Not only can an app involve professionals who could run the app but also climate activists and other lay-people who care about the planet and who want to contribute whatever time and opportunities they can to this kind of project such a people who already regularly visit campsites and forests etc. Great idea thanks for sharing!
Great idea Jinny! If more people are encouraged to look out for their land, the land is more likely to be respected. Many people in urban areas are becoming increasingly disconnected from nature as technology plays a greater role in our lives. But, if we can employ technology in the right way -- such as using an app to monitor environmental conditions -- technology can actually be used to reconnect people with nature.
I like the idea of connecting a bigger network of people to monitor the conditions of the forest and land. This can act as a citizen science project and will allow citizens to get engage in mitigating forest fires.
