I am Chenchen Liang in ENVR 430 at UBC. As human-induced warming has led to a significant global temperature change, I believe in human primary responsibility to mitigate climate change. I envision a world where the global temperature change is ideally below 1.5°C in the long-term via reducing greenhouse gas emissions. I personally an attempting to do this by using clean energy more frequently, such as wind and solar energy, and reducing the frequency of using cheap energy (e.g., fossil fuel). Ultimately, it would be nice if transformative change towards sustainable energy use had been achieved.
Hi Chenchen! Your dedication to climate action is evident. How can educational institutions like UBC further support individuals in adopting sustainable practices, and what initiatives do you believe can accelerate the transition to widespread clean energy use? I belive that with your commitment, I can see our generation beinging forth a more sustainable future.
Hi Chenchen, I think you brought up some great points here! I think your strategies for using clean energy and reducing use of fossil fuels can go a long way towards making real change! One question I have for you is how would you reduce your use of fossil fuels? Are there any strategies you would use? (e.g. walking or biking instead of driving to school)?
