Coming into ENVR430 and after the first class, I didn’t know what to expect. This was the first time I had ever taken a class like this and so there was a mix of nervousness but also excitement. Throughout the term, I engaged with the lecture content with an open mind so that I could absorb as much of the content as I could. I listened to all the in-class discussions (which were very daunting at first because I felt that so many people were more passionate and knowledgeable about what we were learning than I was). However, these discussions ultimately inspired me to want to keep up with global/local issues when it comes to sustainability.
So I envision a future where more people are well-informed about what is happening in society and the environment. And this could be possible because people like us, who took this class and led campaigns/workshops, are able to teach people who are willing to learn. We all share the same planet, so we can all learn from one another to reach this envisioned future.
Hi Suragan,
ENVR 430 was also a different yet, rewarding and an amazing course. The discussions were definitely really inspiring and knowledgable.
Hi Suragan, I have to say though, with all these other students who are passionate and knowledgable regarding these topics, it only helps you learn better!
Being in an environment where passionate and knowledgeable discussions are held is definitely daunting for me as well, but ultimately it also pushes me to learn more about the environmental issues!
I love the passion within the classroom of ENVR 430! It engages me with more ideas and potential solutions to the ongoing global environmental issues! As a result, I’m willing to participate more during lecture time and trying to absorb more in the class. I think the passion of this lecture could motivate me to learn more.
Hi I also believe the final project workshops and campaigns are a valuable aspect of this course. What is better than being able to share what we learned?
Hi Suragan! I agree - I hope together we could take what we learned and inform others to foster real change in this world!
Thank you for sharing! I also agree, I came into this course feeling nervous and not knowing what to expect. The passion and open conversations we had in this course opened my mind to new perspectives and I can't wait to take what I learned and use it in the future :)
Thanks for sharing your reflection! It's agree that since we all call Earth home, we can work towards ensuring that more people are informed about what is happening in terms of the environment.
Thank you for sharing! I also didn't know what to expect from this course and also appreciated learning by having discussions with peers.
Suragan, thank you for having an open-mind coming to this class. I am glad that the course has inspired you to be aware of and campaign for systemic environmental issues. Keep up the good work!
I agree the discussions were a great way to learn and express ourselves!
Hello! Awsome reflection. I also believe the course was a space to leanr and communicate with others with the same values.
Hi Suragan,
This was my first time taking a course of this nature, too! I can agree that our discussions were inspiring in addition to being educational. What a great way to encourage students to take action!
