The way agricultural farming is currently done is harmful to our environment. So what if instead we change the way we farm these products? Is there a better method of agricultural farming that could reduce the negative impacts? What I envision is agricultural farms adopting more biodiversity into their farming practices. We need to encourage farm owners to see the long-term benefits of sustainable farming, but I recognize that choice is often out of their control. These farmers are often paid to grow certain kinds of crops and we need to change this kind of system and offer subsidies so they can adopt more sustainable practices. If more farmers could embrace regenerative agriculture and eliminate the usage of pesticides it would ultimately benefit their seasonal crop yields, allow microorganisms into the soil, prevent desertification, and increase biodiversity.

Hi, I think that the approaches you provided for sustainable agriculture could be efficient. Agricultural products, especially for crops, is not entirely market-good as it has the responsibility to feed people. Providing subsidies for the farmers would be an ideal approach for long-term agriculture as farmers would not rely too much on the agricultural products to support their life so they could have more thoughts and space to think about the sustainability instead of only thinking about the present.
Hi Hooria, I think encouraging biodiversity is a great natural way to ensure that farming is sustainable. What keeps nature in balance better than nature anyway!
Hi Hooria! I agree with you that we need to have subsidies in place to allow farmers to put these sustainable practices into use.
I agree with you. Even though applying new methods requires a huge amount of money input, we still need to do this. Without a healthy planet, people will eventually die out.
Your idea about governments supplying subsidies is similar to mine. I like that.
I like the idea that it will be helpful to apply the knowledge of ecological cycle to agriculture. Although I have learned so far that many agricultural industry chains cannot be separated from the ecological circle, it may be more helpful to provide farmers with more help in this aspect for the sustainable development of agriculture.
Hi Hooria,
I really like that you acknowledged that the choice is often not in the hands of the farmers due to the pre-existing system set up. I agree, we should prioritize taking steps to first reduce the negative impacts and eventually switch to more sustainable practices by supporting the farmers and making it easier for them to do so (such as through the subsidies you mentioned).
I like your ideas that if consumers prefer to buy sustainable food, there are more sustainable farms. Good post!
I agree regenerative farming would be great and stopping use of pesticides would be incredibly beneficial
I really like the idea of supporting farms so that they are able to envision the long-term benefits of sustainable farming.
I agree, incorporating a biodiversity focused approach would be beneficial to move towards a more sustainable version of farming.
