After this course, I gained in-depth insights into resource depletion, human rights, and ecological destruction with different climate issues. I am glad to have acquired this knowledge and hope to deploy these skills in my future job. With my degree, I want to pursue my career in the environmental consultancy field, where I could work with a team with the same passion and provide professional advisory services to reduce any environmental impact along the way of proposed projects. I would love to work with a wide range of clients, whether they are working on industrial initiatives, from commercial sectors, or even government officials. In this way, I could make attempts for assessments in different fields, thus improving my profession by integrating different resources required in each sector to generate a systematic change in this world. ENVR 430 has provided me with opportunities to delve into big environmental issues and know the strategies and challenges in mitigation. My take-home message from this course is that sustainability needs long-term efforts. I vividly remember we discussed the water crisis in one week, and I was amazed by how the "zero-day" could be dismantled with teamwork and great effort from a small city. This brought my attention to thinking how could the rest of the world be motivated to do the same thing and strive for the least impactful, but still great quality of life, for the next generation, and so on.
