I envision a future where a wider range of death options are made available by death care companies. The funeral industry needs to become more open to offering sustainable options, such as aquamation.
I think many people would like the idea of environmentally friendly death care, but sometimes that is just not an option! For example, aquamation is not legal in all areas.
As an intervention, aquamation first needs to be legalized. Secondly, funeral companies need to advertise this option and make their customers aware of its benefits. Educating people about these options is necessary so that they can make an informed decision about death care.
While I agree there are better alternative business cases for disposal. I wonder how necessary is having another expense when interment could actually have a positive affect on the environment by choosing natural burial in a Conservation Burial Reserve that would expand conservation and be nature and climate positive for all concerned instead of putting money in someone else's pocket. Turn death care into health care.
Hi Navikiran, your post allowed me to learn about aquamation as I did not know this was even a death care option until I saw your post and Googled it. I agree that Governemtns need to legalize and open up more options that are more environmentally friendly.
I totally agree, legalizing aquamation needs to be implemented. This will allow people to select this environmentally friendly death care option.
I agree that aquamation needs to be legalized and that companies should be advertising it as an option!
