Wow, where do I even start? This course expanded my perspective on climate change and dive into topics I have never thought about before. This has been an incredible experience where I get to have non-judgemental conversations with like-minded individuals. A goal I had coming into ENVR 430 was to learn about the interventions on different topics (plastic waste, overconsumption etc). I now have the necessary knowledge and will always do my own research in order to prevent purchasing from greenwashing companies.
That being said, I envision a world where education on sustainability and climate change becomes the main focus in today’s society. I want everyone to experience the same learning opportunity that my classmates and I experienced through ENVR 430. Because that’s the solution, it’s that simple. By targeting each climate crisis through education, I truly believe that the goal of a sustainable future can be accomplished. My interventions and what I intend to take from ENVR 430 would be setting aside time to engage in hard conversations with others while raising awareness on these topics. With this, I hope to inspire others through learning and practicing sustainable measures every day.
Hi Cindy! I loved reading your wrap-up post! I absolutely agree with you that this course expanded my perspective about so many topics I had never thought hard about before!
Aw Cindy, what a beautiful wrap-up post! I could not agree more, this learning was simply incredible!
Hi Cindy, I think making more time to engage in hard conversations is a great idea!
I agree! I think everyone needs to have exposure to this kind of knowledge and learn about interventions!
This course changed my perspective on the environment, and I think it is important for people to pay attention to this environmental issue. I think everyone should learn about our ecology and environment. This way, people can have a deeper understanding of the earth and protect it.
The expectations and the outcomes of this course were completely unpredictable! Although this was a good thing as this course was quite effective in conveying the various environmental issues and how changes could be done.
You're so right Cindy!! Education is really at the core of change :) the more people are educated about environmental issues, the more we'll get closer to attaining a sustainable future
I completely agree, the way to a sustainable future starts with education and empowerment of the youth.
Hi Cindy thanks for sharing a great post! I also really enjoyed the education on sustainable solutions instead of only learning about the environmental issue itself.
I also feel that hard conversations are vital. There is so much that I didn't know about environmental problems, root causes, and possible solutions when I first entered the course. It all begins with education, as you said. Great post!
I admire your positivity Cindy! I'm curious, where do you think climate and sustainability education is best implemented? Formally in grade schools/universities, through mass media advertisements from NGOs, government PSAs, or maybe all of the above?
Hey Cindy, what a great reflection! I hope you loved the course just as much as I did!
Really nice reflection Cindy!! I think we all learned so much and met so many great people. <3
Hi Cindy, it's so nice that we had the opportunity to join this class, as you said, what made the change on us is the solution. This class led me to face lots realities that get ignored previously. I will also recommend my frineds taking this class and initiate conversations to engage more people.
Great reflection, Cindy! I also have you to thank for encouraging me to take this course. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to learn about these topics and learn how to have hard conversations. Thank you, Cindy <3
