I also started this course not feeling too confident in creating and sharing my own visions and opinions about environmental issues but feel much more knowledgable today. I share your vision and I hope that we can see a future in which conversations regarding death care are no longer considered taboo, people are more aware of the ecological benefits that aquamation or natural burial have over cremation and traditional burial, and that these newer options are made legal around the world

Hi Eunee! I agree that currently conversations regarding death are generally considered taboo and therefore many families don't end up having important discussions about death care. I hope that in the future more people have these important conversations with their loved ones and that there is greater awareness, in the public, regarding eco-friendly death care options such as aquamation

Hi Sofie! I agree with you! I think conversations regarding death are often shut down very quickly but having a discussion about the death care is extremely important. I share the same vision - if there is more awareness on sustainable death care options, there may then be a stronger legal and cultural shift, resulting in more individuals choosing aquamation or natural burial as an option.

I agree that cremation contributes negatively to the environment as it can release greenhouse gases and also uses fossil fuels.

Hi Philip! I agree with you that a lack of consistency definitely does exist. If government officials adhered more strictly to the thresholds in environment legislation, it would immediately remove potentially harmful projects. I think your proposed invention is super interesting!

Hi Arsh! I agree that governments need to make enforce stricter environmental laws and that consumers have a lot more power than they realize in bringing about a change. The Pepsi story is a sad example of how, despite knowing that tetrapaks were better than plastic bottles for the environment, the company decided against them.

It's a sad reality that companies that are more transparent about their sustainability practices are targeted and villainized rather than becoming a leader in the field. I think if the public has more awareness and is informed about the benefits that come with being more sustainable, they may popularize transparent businesses through social media in a way that other companies may feel forced to also become sustainable.

I feel that if there was greater awareness brought to the harm of sugar consumption, businesses may feel compelled to make sugar-free options more popular due to the shift in market demands.
