Once a week, for three hours at a time, and even with two holidays taking up two classes, I never envisioned this class to be so.........Wonderful. The weekly videos are fantastic, and what I look forward to most every Friday is the variety of perspectives I get to see on the cosphere. It's the first time in four years that I've been so intensely involved in a discussion, and I get to express my thoughts as much as I want, and even if I don't have any, I still send something out. A lot of the stuff in the class was relevant to our lives, and I really liked the closeness of it, and I liked what was happening around me more than other concepts and theories. I loved the class and all the things that happened in the class and the people I met in the class. If I were to do it again I would still choose this class. #unleashedvalues

I have a unique understanding of death from a long time ago, I can feel very clearly how close death is to us, and I am more afraid of it than the people around me. I have never imagined what will happen after my death, such as organ donation, cremation, etc. I am more concerned with the way I die and how painful it will be when I die, so I don't have many philosophical thoughts about 'death' and extended thinking. The reason I feel this way is probably because there are too many people around me who are sick or dying, and there is a demographic collapse in our society nowadays, with more and more elderly people appearing and fewer and fewer newborns. The rapidly evolving society is washing away one group of people after another, Updates in medical equipment, updates in the medical system, updates in medications, updates in diseases, updates that we hear about all the time when we are very young, but they don't seem to stop the people around us from passing away. I don't care what happens to my body after I die, and I don't care about organ donations. My vision for the future is simple: at each person's deathbed, they will be able to see the person they want to see, say what they want to say, and leave no regrets. #unleashvalues

Every year since I was a freshman, there has been a presentation or debate on plastic, basically on the topic of taxing plastic and banning its use. I scanned the classroom and found that two-thirds of the people were using metal cups and the rest were using plastic water cups or mineral water bottles, and I was part of the rest. I was bored with the topic because it had been too long since a new topic about 'plastic' had come up and people were just talking about 'we need to keep putting taxes on plastic! That way no one will buy it! ' 'We need to ban plastic altogether! Ban it at the source! '....... It's so boring. I have this strange idea that we are all being guided by some organization or force or doctrine that leads us to argue about plastic, and there must be a deeper reason behind it, or maybe I'm daydreaming because the topic is so boring that I'm starting to develop conspiracy theories. I hope that plastic can reduce the harm it causes in the coming time, I don't expect all the plastic in the world to disappear one day, that's not realistic yet, I want the harm of plastic to gradually decrease until we can find the perfect replacement for plastic. #unleashvalues

If I were a very rich person, my wealth could still be measured by numbers, but it still wouldn't change the fact that I'm very rich. First of all, I would pretend to do charitable activities because it would be reasonable to avoid taxes, secondly, even though I would be reasonable to avoid taxes, I would still pay my fair share of taxes and it would cause me heartache, and thirdly, if I paid my fair share of taxes, nothing would ever cost me a larger sum of money again, and I will trend what I have on my hand as everything!!! I'll use the money I legally have to enjoy a life I've never enjoyed before, and that doesn't mean I need to spend on something luxurious or very flashy, I might just want to do something I haven't done before, something very expensive. If I had a big company, not as big as Amazon or Facebook, but big enough to feed a few thousand employees as well as ensure I stay rich. There are a lot of things I want to do, but I think protecting the environment should be the last thing I want to do, even though there are all kinds of laws forcing me to protect the environment or save energy, but there are too many things to consider before that, because the company's income affects the income of thousands of families, and a whole host of other issues. I'm just daydreaming, and I probably won't have to worry about these issues for the rest of my life, but I think it's very difficult to change the minds of rich people and big companies, because they represent more than just themselves or their companies, they can sometimes represent a city or even a country. The current situation is that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, and those who are caught in the middle are indifferent, their mindset of not wanting to become poor keeps them surviving in the middle, but the oppression from the top keeps them from moving up. It is just too hard to change.................. #unleashvalues

I am so dead on this topic. I have no idea what I can say about this. Fire, a natural thing to me, a few years ago I was trying to blame that 'Humans are the cause of wildfire!', but my thought was destroyed after I'd done some research...it turned out that humans have almost nothing to do with wildfire... Air? To be 200% honest, I think it's perfectly fine now. The reason why I think this way is because I've experienced some 'Real Air Quality Disaster', not like the wildfire smoke which lasts 2 or 3 weeks, but some PM2.5 problem lasts 1 or 2 years straight. To be 300% honest, I am satisfied with the air quality now in Canada (except the smell of weed every night in Richmond, I hate that thing). However, 'I am satisfied' does not equal 'there's no more air quality problem in the rest of the world' . I wish this situation could remain like this for a little longer in countries that have relatively good air quality, and turn better years later. I also wish these countries could put more effort into increasing global air quality, provide your tech, your money, your people, and stop complaining all day long pretending to work. Sorry about this dry post, I will just comment more if I have more ideas. #unleashvalues

‘Solving one problem won't solve the entire problem.' How much food do you eat a day? How many meals do you eat a day? Are you cooking the enough amount of food everyday? What do you do with the left overs? How often do you go to a restaurant? How many food do you order there? Enough or a lot? How do you do with the food you can't eat? You just leave it there or you pack it up? I've had a long relationship with all kind of restaurant, I am totally aware how much food will be thrown into the garbage bin. The waste, is horrible. It seems like the food waste is no longer that popular like few years ago, now what people think is how much meat we eat and how much does that 'cost'. I am a 'old' person and I am still walking around in the old days talking, and I wonder, does it matter how much a piece of meat cost if we can't even eat them all? I bet Canada is doing a lot better than a lot of countries, but still, the problem is still here. This is not only the problem of individuals, but also the problem of all food related and restaurant related industries. I am off the topic again, I just wish that the waste could be less in the future, and I wish people could think more problems at once, so that we won't see tons of problems when we look back. #unleashvalues

'Do you own that Tree? Do you own that Grass? Do you own that animal? Do you own this world?'. The answer is No, because we are thinking individually. How could we change so much when we are asked as a group? 'Do we own that Tree? Do we own that Mountain? Do we own the water? Do we own this World?'. The answer is either Unsure or Yes. Before you say 'How could we own this world? we live on this and we share everything, what is wrong with you?', think deeply, isn't there a tiny bit of you thinking that we own this world? And to be honest, how often do you think the question about 'Own or not Own', how much do you care about it? Is this just something when other people start to mention and you start to care and you just completely forget after one hour? What is wrong with us? We don't own anything. We own everything to the world. I am kind of lost and I bet whoever is reading this is now lost as well. Putting prices on everything is not terrible, putting prices on ecosystem is not that bad, these actions are made to bring a temporal stable situation. Obviously I am not on the right track, but always think before we actually state something. I was going to post something else this time, but I now think that I have no stand on this topic. #unleashvalues

Imagine a world, with only robots on it, robots that are made by the same machine and with no differences at all. This is a purely fair world, and a purely dead world. Our society, our world and us, are made of unfairness, if not so, people will lose their reason to fight for something, they will lose their desire of something they can’t get. Justice is something different, we can have a world full of justice but not fairness. Justice could bring a certain level of fairness, but justice itself is already unfair enough, people would argue, ‘why someone have the right to arrest the others?’ ‘Why does the judge have the right to order someone to kill another person?’. There’s always someone behind the situation, and that person also has someone behind him with higher authority or power, and it goes on and on and on… What was unfair has passed, and the reason why we know it was unfair is because justice arrived. Justice is always late, but it will be there, we can’t stop unfair, but we could make justice arrive fasters. (People are born different(unfairly) as well, don’t argue on this, what is happening on you now may not because of yourself. Trust yourself a little more, and become justice if you have the chance) #unleashvalues

Over consumption is terrible but there’s not a solution for that yet. Just a few days ago, bitcoin mining met its end and all the machines it was required to use are now wasted and flowed into secondary markets. Is this an end of Graphics Card over consumption? Yes, and the environment is saved in a certain way because less electricity will be used, and less material will be used to make a Graphic Card. So, what happens to the secondary market, all I can imagine is a mess. I just made an extremely terrible example, but my value is that I don’t believe one individual or a group of people or a ton of people could make any change, it has to change as a entirety of human being. However, what I mentioned about ‘being a entirety’ is 99% impossible under current situation or under any situation in the possible future, the world full of one thought is impossible to exist. Now I have no idea about what I am talking about again, if there’s no way of stopping it, what have we been fighting for so long? The answer is us. - Yudong #unleashvalues
