I found this class made me feel a lot more hopeful and empowered for the future too! even though we learned about a lot of issues that need to be fixed, I liked that we also always thought about solutions after

This was also my favorite class! the format was super unique and I feel like I learned so much this term!

I agree that the final presentations have been a super awesome way to apply our learning! watching all the groups present has been so fun!

I agree that not having to worry about memorizing stuff made the course a super unique was to learn and reflect! I also hope to apply what I learned this term in my every day life!

I really liked the documentary with David Attenborough. I was really sad hearing about how much damage to nature has already been done, but his ideas on how we can live in harmony with nature gives me hope for a better future.

I agree that I dont really care about what happens to me after I die since I wont be there to have an opinion. I bet theres a lot of people who have the same opinion on death care. I think education on the topic is very important because a lot of people will likely prefer the most sustainable method.

I agree it was really shocking and sad to see the extent to which we have impacted nature. I really hope action can be taken soon to help prevent more loss of nature and species.

Great ideas! I never even knew about the climate impacts death care has on the environment and I'm guessing most people dont know about it. I think being able to talk more about death is the first step.

Great post! I agree that western culture should revaluate how we see death, since it inevitable to happen to anyone and cant just be brushed off as a discussion point.

I agree that the solution to the problem is fully banning plastic! otherwise there is not enough pressure for companies to make changes and the change is too slow

I like all of the different alternatives to plastic you listed! it shows there are many good options of materials to use other than plastic and its just a matter of pushing for changes to happen.

I totally agree that we shouldn't be using plastic so much. I think so much of our use of plastic is very unnecessary and could so easily just not be there or replaced with something else.

I agree that all single use plastics should be banned. I think its an interesting point that if we ban plastic the trash sorting system will actually get easier, since the current sorting system of having many bins is presented as being sustainable although it just masks the problem.

That is a really good comparison with informed consent! I agree that harmful chemicals should absolutely not be in our products especially if the government knows about them. Its frustrating constantly hearing about all the different harmful chemicals we get exposed to

I totally agree with the fact that so much of what businesses say about sustainability is surface level marketing. I really wish there could be more transparency on what businesses really are sustainable vs which ones are just looking to make an extra profit.

I really like your idea of the government better regulating business donations! I think businesses would have interest in this since it could still help avoid some taxes and their donations could be used for good, so this idea would benefit a lot of different groups.

Great post! I was also really socked to hear about the loopholes many rich people use to avoid taxes. I think there is no reason for people to have millions and millions or even billions of dollars and those people should be taxed very heavily.

I think more government regulation is definitely really important to make sure businesses engage in sustainable practices. I think its a bit frustrating that many businesses will always try to cheat the system even if stricter regulations make that harder to do but I'm not sure if that can really be changed in a capitalist society.

I really like your ideas! I hate how hard it is to find out the truth about what truly goes on in businesses and I don't understand why lack of transparency has become the norm. I think most consumers would appreciate more transparency!
