Do you think if government fine the companies that use plastics, companies will add the cost burden to consumers? Since Vancouver bans plastic shopping bags, grocery stores ask consumers to pay for paper bags.

Hey Kevin, you got a really good point here! I understand that sometimes plastic packaging is hard to be replaced by other packagings because it's transparent and durable, but plastic packaging is definitely not necessary for clothes. I couldn't believe that Patagonia also uses plastic packaging.

Hi Sarah, I agree that efficiency of plastic is the biggest issue. It's hard to replace it using other materials.

Excellent values. I totally agree education is the key to raise public awareness of environmental consequences. People need to know the consequences of their behaviour in order to receive the incentive for changes.

Hi Arshi, I agree that letting government to enforce environmental policies is the most effective way to limit pollution from manufacturing because no company would voluntarily switch to more sustainable operation. Only fines and taxes that reduce their profit can constrain companies' behaviour.

Hi Bellie, I totally agree with you to promote the implementation of environmental policies and punishments. Carbon tax is a good example of environmental policy. I hope in the future, environmental policies can be implemented to different environmental issues, such as livestock methane pollution, water pollution, etc.

Hi Hunter, just want to add on to your point. I think monitoring and better prediction for the spread of wildfire is also important. Though we should not panic about wildfire, I don't totally agree that let fire burn freely is the best solution.

Hi Ari, I found some statistics said that about 85 percent of the wildland fires in the US is caused by human activities including campfires left unattended. So I like that you pointed out a major source of wildfire, and we can be more considerate about our behaviours.

In one of the previous comment to me, I saw a case where wildfire burned down a small town, so I just want to point out that sometimes wildfire could threaten human, but I guess in most of the cases smoke is the most direct impact to us.

Hi Robert, thanks for your comment. I totally agree with you. I'm more worried about how human activities cause more frequent wildfires through climate change, and also from debris burning or leaving camp fire unattended.
