Death is a really scary topic for many and not easy to talk to talk about either. However, I believe that death is inevitable and a part of life. Getting old/aging is scary and sometimes people are unprepared about the aging process. I envision a world where the topic of death isn't considered taboo and families can feel comfortable having important discussions such as death care. There are heavy costs and many environmental effects regarding death care. Conversations regarding death should become more acceptable and people would be able to make decisions being environmentally friendly cautious. To make changes, I suggest educating people about the alternatives such as ecological and sustainable death care to protect themselves is very important. People should be more aware and knowledgeable about environmentally friendly death care. There should also be laws regulating the process of natural burial and anti-ecological burials. Funeral homes should also be mandated and required to educate family members and individuals about other burial options and the different costs. Eco-sustainable options should me made more accessible for everyone.

Hi Ravinder,
I completely agree with your post, more people do need to be aware of the ecological impacts of death care. The fact that funeral homes only give you the expensive options and don't suggest any of the sustainable options are absolutely wrong.
Hello Ravinder! I agree with you that we need to normalize the topic of death and death care. I also like the idea of funeral homes being required to discuss the options of death care as it's one of the most likely places for the topic of death to be normalized. This also allows families to be able to plan ahead of time regarding what choice they want for their death care.
I agree that we need to become more informed about death care. Talking about death itself is so often avoided, let alone death care. But it really is impacting our surroundings, and further distancing us from the ecosystem we're a part of. I hope education around these options increases too. Great post!
I like your ideas about requiring funeral homes to discuss about burial options! I think opening these discussions before death itself arrives would definitely encourage people to actively choose the greener options themselves instead of leaving the decision to their offspring.
